Model Engineer Exhibition

The photos on this page were taken at the Model Engineer Exhibition held at Ascot Convention Centre (England), 2008. They were kindly provided by John Downey who has generously provided photo coverage of the IC exhibits at this show in past years as well. John reports that he had a long, philosophical discussion with Brian Perkins regarding his sad reluctance to fire up the Bristol Hydra. Assembling this engine was about as complex as making it and on a project as complex as this, the possibility of having to dissassemble and reassemble several times to sort out operational problems is so high as to be virtually assured! John and I have complete sympathy with Brian's reluctance (that's Brian again admiring Barrington Hares' Rolls Royce Eagle in the thick case).
