In Australia, distribution of the 'K' engines was handled by Bill Evans, who also had an exclusive on distribution of the Gee Bee engines being made by a young Gordon Burford. Evans contracted Burford to handle servicing for the K engines, which resulted in a stack of jigs and fixtures being sent to him from England. In later years, Gordon told David Owen that this was a great boost to him as a start-up model engine maker and ideas from those jigs were adapted into some of the tooling for his later Sabre and Taipan designs.
