Workshop Hints and Tips by GEOMETER

Created: August, 2006
Updated: October, 2006

Geometer was a major contributor to the Model Engineer during the period 1955 to 1964. The Index shows 424 articles bearing this by-line in volumes 112 through 130. Geometer was a nom de plume for Ian Bradley who also contributed 106 articles under his own name over the period 1949 through 1991. In collaboration with Dr NF Hallows, he provided a further 212 articles under the alias Duplex. To save you reaching for the calculator, that's a total of 742 articles.

Ian Bradley also had technical books published under his own name. These include The Amateur's Workshop (1950), the Myford Series 7 Manual (1973), Saws and Sawing (1986, No 10 in the Workshop Practice Series), and Metalwork and Machining Hints and Tips (1988, No 20 in the Workshop Practice Series). All have been extensively reprinted and, as of 2006, remain in print.

Several of his series on Workshop Hints and Tips are of special relevance to IC engine builders. These have been scanned in order to make their text available to the Model Engine News Search Utility, and other search engines.
