The BollAero 18 is a 1.8cc side-port, compression ignition engine designed by Chris Boll for home construction fem barstock. Chris modeled it after the smaller ML Midge designed by Mark Lubbock. Plans for the engine originally appeared in Aviation Modeller International, but Chris generously offered them to readers of Model Engine News, so they were modelled in Alibre Design by Ron Chernich and made available for download in October, 2009. You can obtain the most up to date set through this link: BollAero 18 Plan Set [pdf 574K]. This page showcases completed engines made from the plans, and works in progress. We welcome photos and experiences. Just email them to the address at the foot of this page.
